Route 352 and U.S. 1

Area 1 (Interchange) Preferred Alternative: Loop Road/Ramps

The preferred alternative for Area 1 will include:

  • Loop Road will connect U.S. 1 and Route 352 in the SW quadrant
  • Emergency access drive to the hospital, and various access driveways off Loop Road
  • Two lanes in each direction continue along U.S. 1 Media Bypass, and Baltimore Pike connects with U.S. 1 via free-flowing ramps
  • Weaving conditions on both sides eliminated
  • Penn Charter Drive extended to Route 352
  • Rose Tree Road and Mall entrance realigned to a signalized intersection
  • Sidewalks along U.S. 1, Route 352, and Loop Road

Area 2 (Route 452 / U.S. 1 Intersection) Preferred Alternative: No Left Turn at Loop Road

  • Three thru lanes in each direction along U.S. 1
  • All turns at signalized intersection of Route 452 and U.S. 1
  • Dual left turns from U.S. 1 to Route 452
  • Township Loop Road – only right-in / right-out at U.S. 1 intersection

Area 3 (Route 452 / Route 352 Intersection) Preferred Alternative: 

The preferred alternative for Area 3 will include:

  • Conventional signalized intersection at Route 352 and Route 452
  • Dual left turn from northbound Route 452 to northbound Route 352
  • Two thru lanes in each direction thru the intersection along Route 352
  • Northbound Route 352 two lanes widening extends across Old Forge Road
